Access management

There are three types of access restriction:

• Confidential—confidential data never appears in public reports or diagrams, nor in exported content.
• Locked—the data cannot be edited until first unlocked.
• Privacy—currently this access restriction is not implemented. A future release will encrypt any private data.

There are three modes of processing protected data:

•  Maximum protection—neither confidential nor private data is shown.
•  Medium protection—all data is visible except private.
•  No protection—all data is visible.

Modes of processing protected data affect three data views: tables of person and family records, tree diagrams, and pedigrees. Maximum protection is on by default. You can change the protection mode by double-clicking the mode icon at bottom right corner of the main window.
