Currently any update of the dir list causes the current selection to be dropped. Might like to retain the selection across an update as long as none of the selected files dissapear.

Expand the notify to include ANY file changes...

Things I would like to do and/or see done (hint).

I need help in the Windows area. I think these things can be done with one of the windows scripting languages but I don't know these and find myself too busy to learn a new language at this time. Here are a couple of things I would like as windows script/programs:

1. When a file is to be purged (or overwritten) and the user has admin privileges it should just happen. Now, even in windows 'explore' you sometimes have to change the ownership of the file to get rid of it. If the user has the power to do that, the purge/overwrite should just happen. And where windows now asks if you really want admin capability, well we should have the same ability to ask and also the ability to just do it which we would control with a configure option in filerunner.

2. When an attempt is made to access a volumn that requires a login, currently explore.exe asks for it, but if filerunner tries, the volumn just does not exist (until explore.exe does the login duties). A script to preform this service for filerunner would be welcome. This may be as simple as calling explore.exe in just the right way...

3. A simple script to read "properties" for files would be nice. In particular, it should be able to read *.ogg *.mp3 *.<audio format> headers. This is what the filerunner "view" command should do. Come to think of it this would be nice for linux too.

On first run for a given user filerunner does a default configure. This should be smartened up to do different things depending on the discovered environment. In particular, the Unix/Linux set up is good for M$ windows with 'cygwin' installed, but should differ if it is not. Also, we may want to ship some of the simple tools from 'cygwin' to give a reasonable environment for packing and unpacking files, at least.
